Description:
Smarthome is seeking a Product Specialist to work in a fast-paced, high
energy environment within our Marketing Department. You will be part of a
team responsible for the growth of 3rd party product sales within
specific product categories. This includes working with team members to
nurture existing product lines and to bring the latest and greatest
consumer electronics to market. You will create product pages on our
website and assist with providing additional copy and assets to help
other areas within the Marketing Team.
The ideal candidate will possess a unique blend of product management
experience, business and technical savvy, and an extreme interest in
consumer electronics. You don't just think a product is cool - you know
every aspect of that product that makes it unique and valuable to the
consumer and can effectively convey that message. You understand the
lifecycle of the product and can create a go-to-market strategy, helping
develop product positioning, key benefits, and the target customer. You
are the internal and external evangelist for your product offering.
Key Job Responsibilities:
• Cultivate new and existing product lines through the entire life cycle
• Research and identify new products that are "winners"
• Conduct market research supported by industry experience, review of
the web, blogs, magazines, trade shows, etc. to be an expert in your
field
• Develop an effective go-to-market plan for the promotion of product lines
• Write unique, engaging, SEO-friendly product pages for the website
• Acquire and provide assets (images, videos, manuals, solutions, etc.) for promotional activities
• Work with department heads to understand business needs
• Some travel may be required to attend trade shows (very limited, 5-10 days a year at the most)
