The Argen Corporation, world leader in dental alloy manufacturing, has an immediate opening for a Web Technology Architect at our corporate office located in Sorrento Valley.
The Web Technology Architect will be directly responsible for architecting Argen's online ordering system for digital and alloy sales. Argen's current disparate online offering will need to be replaced with a streamlined, customer-friendly, and efficient system that interconnects with Argen's many operational systems. The Web Technology Architect will need to do extensive research on 3rd party offerings and systems that will provide the backbone for the new system. The Web Technology Architect can also expect to work with 3rd party consultants on all development work, rather than in-house developers. The Web Technology Architect's main customers will be the Digital sales and operations teams.
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Research 3rd party online ordering systems and infrastructure.
• Research 3rd party production, fulfillment, and invoicing systems and infrastructure.
• Develop robust, secure, and redundant hosting infrastructure.
• Research 3rd party scanner and design systems and develop plug-ins to allow customers to directly place Argen orders through these systems (includes 3shape, Exocad, Dental Wings, Lava, and Sirona).
• Develop and document system architecture for digital and alloy online ordering, digital production workflow, and invoicing.
• Ensure all financial aspects of online ordering are properly reflected in QAD, Argen's ERP system.
• Select and manage 3rd party consultants and partners on the design and development of system architecture.
• Serve as key quality assurance stakeholder on all 3rd party development work.
• Host regular meetings with key stakeholders to collect feedback and sign-off on key milestones.
• Train department managers on new workflows that result from revised system architecture.
• Interface with internal IT team on progress updates and provide training on revised system architecture.
• Serve as a key stakeholder alongside the Marketing team on the redesign of Argen.com, including agency selection and design and usability sign-off.
• Integration of web analytics tools to better understand product usage and order funnels and abandonment.
