I am an experienced tutor and teacher with over nine years of
experience. My goal is to tap into our fascination with the world around
us, by making the process of learning both an enjoyable and beneficial
adventure. Along with periodic progress reports, I offer testing to
determine my client's learning style (right vs. left brain dominance
& auditory vs. visual vs. tactile learner). With the results, I am
then able to inform the student of the traits that are associated with
his/her learning style, and I am able to give the student study tips
based upon what type of learner the student is. I employ all three
learning techniques (auditory, visual and tactile) in order to ensure
that my clients are able to grasp the information and master their
individual goals.
Along with developing curriculum for various courses, I have taught a
variety of after-school programs, including French, Spanish, English,
Mathematics, Science, Empowered Learning: Study and Organizational
Skills, Arts & Crafts, Digital Photography, Experimental Sculpture,
Computer Skills, Jewelry Making, Fashion Design, Scrapbooking, etc.
I also have experience tutoring students with learning disorders,
including ADD and ADHD. Through a tutoring company that I worked with, I
have tutored Mathematics and English Reading & Writing through the
'Voyager' program. We used this program while tutoring for Supplemental
Educational Services (SES), sponsored by the No Child Left Behind Act.
