to handle, communicate and even continue the training when our job is

training, and move on to more advanced type training. We will train
your dog to do the things you need it to do, then we will train you to
handle your dog and to give discipline ... obedience ... and affection,
in that exact order.

Training
Before we go into the training section, you need to know, that it
only takes HOURS to train your dog, and not months, or weeks!
So before you sign any contracts with any other "trainer", have them
explain, why it is taking so long to train your dog.
Our training takes place in your home and at our local parks. We train
in the home, because this is where the obedience issues occur. If you
take a dog out of its element, of course they will act different ... so
we like to train in as close to normal living standards, as possible. We
also utilize the local parks for the distraction they offer, when it is
time to move into more advanced training. We will also promise you this
... We will not come into your home and waste your time and use
Clickers to train your dog ... We won't use food to get your dog to
perform a trick ... We will train him ... not bribe him. We won't abuse
your dog in any way, but you should expect your dog to rebel ... just
like a child wanting to test you, when new rules are being laid out, to
bring balance and manners into a dog's life.

Aggression & Rehabilitation Training
Dayton Dog Trainer specializes in Aggressive Dogs with past bite
issues and Aggressive Dog Rehabilitation, food aggression, human fear,
fear aggression or for those who just have that fear of their dog
biting.
DO NOT Get rid of your Dog
Simply give us a call and we will evaluate the situation, then
provide you with a plan. With this type of training, you will be
required to give it all you got. We will show you why the issue is
present, what to look for before a bite takes place and how to break up a
dog fight without getting hurt. We will teach you to understand the dog
and communicate with them ... Body language, movement, eye direction,
breathing, hair, tail, etc..

aren't born ... it is a learned behavior. We simply reset the thought

AGGRESSION ISSUES
Can occur as a young pup or a full grown adult dog. Aggression is
something that is learned. Dogs aren't born aggressive. People
sometimes make dogs aggressive. So it will be the people, along with
pack introduction to bring this dogs mind, back to stability. I believe
that 99% of all dogs can be saved from aggression. But there is that
1% chance that the dog is not reachable.

Pricing
Evaluation / Demo
I do not quote any prices on the phone, due to the fact, every dog
is different and each have different needs. Our Evaluation is $50.00 to
drive to your home and evaluate your dog and price your training. If
you decide you want to retain our services, then the evaluation is
FREE. If you are outside Montgomery County or Preble County, in one of
the surrounding counties, the Demo / Evaluation will be $100.00. If you
decide to retain our services after the evaluation, the evaluation fee
will be dropped to $50.00.
We assure you ... We will not waste your time ... We are the real deal
and not some Petsmart trainer, or a guy trying to make a few bucks ...
We will also demo our training at your evaluation and show you how your
dog can easily change if you know how to understand your dog. Plus it
will give you an opportunity to see if you like our style of training.
We promise you that we won't try any of our psychic talents either, on
your dog ... LOL
Course Pricing
An evaluation must be performed before any pricing can be given.
Every dog is different and every family has different training needs. We
do not conduct one repeat training course ... but instead, a course
designed around your family and your dog's needs. For someone to price
you over the phone, means that they plan on putting you through a "one
size fits all, cookie cutter" type training course designed to work in a
group session. IT DOESN'T WORK ... because every dog is different and
has different needs.
Just Fix The Issue
This option is designed for those with dogs that have behavior or
aggression issues. Not all will qualify for this option. An evaluation
must be performed to decide whether this is the right option for the
dog. Sadly enough ... many "trainers" believe that an obedience course
will fix everything. In reality, all it does, is secure a paycheck for
them. Those who have been selected for this option in the past, in some
cases, have been able to have the issue fixed for as little as $50.00,
instead of paying for an entire obedience course. It really just
depends on how your dog evaluates.
Pay As You Go
We also offer a "Pay As You Go" plan, that will allow those on a
tight budget to still obtain the training they need. In this plan ...
We will drive to your home and conduct training, deal with behavior
issues, aggression, and more. This plan is also designed for those
wanting to learn more advanced training. Each time we train, you will
pay an hourly rate. This does not lock you into a full training course,
but an open "Pay As You Go" training curriculum. Not all qualify for the
"Pay As You Go" or "Just Fix The Issue" training. An evaluation must
be performed before you can be considered for qualification. So give us a
call and lets have some fun.

Beware of "trainers" who use clickers, food or force training.
Beware of "trainers" who will price your training over the phone. If
they price you over the phone, then they plan to put you through a
training course designed for every dog that comes along, rather than
dealing with your dog's particular issues. Remember ... we also train in
your home, because that is where your dog lives.
BEWARE OF:
- Trainers who ask you to bring your dog to them, as opposed to coming to your home
... Training should always be done in your home. This is where the
issues are, this is where your dog is most comfortable. Just like a
person, if you take your dog out of the place he or she is most
comfortable, then of course they will act completely different, which
won't allow for a true, honest evaluation.
- Month Long Contracts ... It should only take a
few hours to completely train your dog. If it takes longer than that,
then the person calling themselves a trainer, is truly unable to
communicate with your dog. If a "trainer" offers any type of monthly or
weekly training classes, then it would be evident to us, that this
person calling themselves a trainer, cannot truly communicate with any
dog. True communication, comes with instant result.
- Clickers ... In our opinion, this method is
completely rediculous, and provides no real results. Let me ask you this
... If you have a pack of dogs and one of the members does something to
please the Alpha, does the alpha click a clicker to reward that dog?
- Food Training ... Stay away from food while
training ... This is only a way to bribe your dog, rather than truly
communicate with them, to get the results you are wanting. Also ...
does the Alpha of the pack, reward his pack with a dog biscuit or a
bone?
- Pricing Over The Phone ... If a "trainer" prices
your training over the phone, then they plan on putting your dog
through a course designed for every dog ... and not every dog is the
same. Each dog has different needs and issues ... And how does the
trainer know what your dog needs without even seeing them or evaluating
them?
- Trainers Who DON'T Demo their work, before you sign up
... If a "trainer" is not willing to demo their training for you and
can't show instant result ... then ask yourself if this person is a
real trainer. Most good trainers will at least offer to demo their
training, so that you can see if their training works or not ... or if
it is the right thing for your dog. If they are confident in their
training, they should allow you to see a bit.
- Group Training Classes ... This is a great way
for the "trainer" to make a lot of money at the same time, without
providing one on one training for each individual dog. Remember ... each
dog is different and has different needs.
NOTE: We don't know everything, or have all the
answers to every situation ... but this is common sense stuff, that you
should look for. We do consider ourselves to be great trainers ... but
we are also sure that there are many great trainers out there, that know
more than us. But we refuse to take your money and not give you what
you paid for. You work hard for your money, so you should always get
what your paying for.
Be very cautious when hiring a dog trainer. There are a lot of people
who wake up and decide they need to make some extra money, so they put
ads up saying they can train dogs ... and many have no formal training
and are only attempting to train, because they seen some guy on TV, make
it look easy. DDT has been in business 15 years as of 2014 ... as the
potential trainer how long they have been in business. We know of a
couple who recently opened up and have no verifiable training. Be
careful!
