MUSICIANS, BANDS, MUSIC STORES, RECORDING STUDIOS, BARS & NIGHTCLUBS!!
Are you tired of...
... dealing with music stores using amateur so-called "technicians" with
little experience, and only ancient bargain-basement test equipment,
who are often stumped on even the simplest repair, and whose sloppy
workmanship often causes more problems than it solves?
... being treated like a number, unable to talk to the tech who worked
on your equipment, or to get straight, understandable answers to
questions about your equipment, its problems, and any necessary repairs
or improvements?
... waiting weeks, or even months for your much-needed equipment, only
to find that the problems were never solved, or having it fail again for
the same problem only a short while later - just when you needed it
most?
... returning your equipment to the store/shop time and time again, and
worse... finding that their "warranty" expired when you walked out the
door - forcing you to pay them all over again for something that should
have been fixed right the first time?
I CAN OFFER YOU A VASTLY DIFFERENT ALTERNATIVE!
I've been repairing Vintage Stereo & Pro Audio equipment Professionally since 1973.
After all these years, I STILL LOVE what I do, and take great pride in the quality of my work!
I treat every customer as a valued friend, and every piece of equipment as if it were my own!
I have a fully-equipped SENCORE Service Lab!
(Over $30k worth... the Best-Equipped Audio Service Lab in NH!)
I have an extensive inventory of vintage parts & can usually get most anything I don't stock within a few days.
(I use OEM Factory Parts whenever possible, or high-quality replacements when not...)
I have a massive collection of Factory Owner's & Service Manuals, & Schematics!
ALL Repairs are DONE RIGHT the FIRST TIME! NO RUSHED REPAIRS & NO HACKING!!!
(All work is performed thoroughly & meticulously... controls,
switches, & jacks cleaned, all soldering checked & corrected,
critical components tested, etc...)
All Tubes are tested to MY very strict standards... far higher than,
& for criteria & issues that most "techs" aren't even aware
of...
(A VERY HIGH PERCENTAGE of current major brand-name "NEW" tubes are
SEVERELY SUB-STANDARD... if not actually DEFECTIVE right out of the box!
And many so-called "NOS" ["New Old Stock"] from major distributors
& eBay sellers are just very USED tubes with "clean" logos, that
fail to test even close to the way TRUE "NOS" should & do!)
All repairs are fully burned-in on the Sencore PA81 Power Amp Analyzer
& Signal Generator/Scope-Monitored. (The ONLY way to truly know if
an amp is working to properly... just "listening" to it isn't enough!)
I thoroughly clean & polish every unit so it looks as close to new as possible when you get it back!
When you bring your equipment in, I will take the time to examine your,
run basic tests, fully explain all repairs needed & answer your
questions, & then provide a written estimate contract covering
expected parts & labor costs.
When you pick up your equipment, I will show you that all functions are
working perfectly (including scope tests), & explain all repairs
performed & parts replaced to restore it to peak condition... in
language you'll understand!
I'll provide you with a fully-detailed repair invoice so you'll know
exactly what was replaced & what work was done! (No vague, generic
3x5 scribbled receipts!)
ALL my repairs carry a 6 MONTH written PARTS & LABOR WARRANTY!!
(If I missed something, or a repair fails... while EXTREMELY RARE... I'll take care of it! NO Hassles!)
I specialize in correcting other technicians' mistakes, and solving problems they had to give up on!!!
Unfortunately, due to the near-total lack of truly PROFESSIONAL &
QUALITY-CONSCIOUS "Techs" in NH (as well as Maine, Mass, & Vt...
& especially eBay) from what my customers tell me, & the number
of previously repaired/butchered units they bring in, this has become a
LARGE part of my business! (I've rarely ever not been able to solve even
the most difficult/butchered repair, unless the damages were too
extensive/expensive to justify, or certain rare/unusual parts were just
no longer available... but in some cases of extreme "butchering", these
repairs may take some time to complete.)
I specialize in repairing the better models of most major Pro Audio
brands & products... (Sorry, NO Behringer, Line 6, or Mackie gear...
SCRAP it!)
- Guitar Amps (Tube & Solid State)
- Power Amps
- Preamps
- Equalizers
- Mixing Consoles
- Speakers/Crossovers
(I specialize in repairs & restorations of Vintage 60s, & 70s
Fender, Marshall, Ampeg, Carvin, Peavey, Laney, Music Man, Sound City,
Vox, & other classic tube Guitar Amps)

TUBE AMP OWNERS!!!
Talk to me BEFORE you WASTE YOUR MONEY replacing the tubes in your
guitar amp... as the MAJORITY of current production tubes (ESPECIALLY
Sovtek, ElectroHarmonix, Tungsol, & other EH brands, "Winged C's",
etc... - as well as all "GROOVE TUBES" using them!!) are virtually
JUNK... suitable only for TARGET PRACTICE (Take them out of the box,
line them up on a fence rail & pull out your slingshot, BB Gun, .22,
or shotgun, & have at 'em!). (Most JJ's & Chinese are MEDIOCRE
at their best...)
I've REJECTED & returned 60-90% of the tubes I've bought, or tested
for customers in the last few years) (I have a far better tester, &
far more accurate test method than just about any tech/tube dealer I've
run across yet!)
Even much of the supposed "NOS" (New Old Stock) is often either "new
looking", but VERY USED or severely sub-standard (even some of the
once-great "JAN/Military" tubes!) due to years of bouncing around from
TV shop to yard sale to flea market to eBay... and insufficient testing
using junk/useless tube testers that will pass almost anything that
lights up, etc..!
Due to the deplorable state of current new tubes, & being unable to
find a consistent supply of quality tubes, I NO LONGER SELL TUBES... but
I will test yours, & make recommendations on the "most likely"
tubes to test reasonably well that you can purchase & bring in for
installation. (It may take as many as 2-3 orders or more to get a decent
full set!)

I also specialize in repairing Vintage High-End Tube & Solid-State
Stereo from the 60s, 70's & some from the 80's (Primarily... Adcom,
Bose, Conrad Johnson, Crown, Kenwood, Marantz, McIntosh, Phase Linear,
Pioneer, Yamaha, etc...)
I also service SOME of the higher-quality "Audiophile" level gear
(there's a LOT of very badly designed/assembled, & near-impossible
to repair JUNK out there calling itself "Audiophile".)
- Stereo Receivers
- Integrated Amps
- Preamps
- Power Amps
- Equalizers
(Sorry no longer taking in any more turntables, tape decks, or CD
players due to the difficulty in getting a consistent supply of many of
the always-needed belts, & other worn/damaged parts ...)
You won't find me in the phone book or fancy newspaper/magazine ads...
most of my customers over the years have come via word-of-mouth from
other satisfied customers, and many have been coming to me for 10-20 yrs
or more... some since I first started in business!
Once you come in, you'll never go anywhere else for repairs again!
I'm conveniently located in the Manchester Millyard area.
(SEE my CARD at top... Leave voicemail if I miss your call... will get back to you ASAP!)
I'm generally available mid-afternoons (2-3pm) till midnight during the
week & some weekends... ALL hours are by appointment.
I'm always available to answer questions, and offer what advice I can...
Thanks for reading!
I'll look forward to hearing from you!
