Above he says that he offers 12 months on parts and labor yet he texted me when my car was leaking for the 4th time after he repeatedly "fixed" it that he already went above and beyond for me because he only covers labor for 30 days...so he refused to touch my car again unless I paid him $250 more (beyond the $600 already).

He ruined my beloved Audi A4 convertible with plumber's foam! (See my 3 profile pics here). I had taken my cars to Serafin for over three years for things like brakes, wheel bearings, and oil changes and considered him a friend until now. In the fall I had a coolant leak that was leaking at the H pipe; Serafin replaced the pipe, but as I was driving home the check engine light on, which never happened in three years since I owned the car. I told him right away and brought the car back. He turned the light off. Two weeks later it went on again, and then a month later the car was leaking again. He turned the light off and told me he could not find the leak--that it was leaking from a place other than where he repaired--and charged me for taking it apart to evaluate. I brought the car to two different shops (paid for evaluations) and both confirmed it was leaking at the seal of the H pipe again. So I brought it back for him to repair, which he said he would do for free (but did not give me the money I gave him initially for when he evaluated incorrectly). I also asked him again to find out why the check engine light was on, and he said he took care of it and turned it off. The car stopped leaking for two months, but in January the check engine light went on again before the emissions test, he could not find what was wrong, I brought it somewhere else only to find it needed secondary injection pump that was burned out because it was neglected (from just turning the light off and not fixing the problem..and now there is a carbon build up behind that needs repair). In February the car started leaking again and he said she could not see it for two weeks and it would cost me $250--"no more freebies" is what he texted me. I never thought that if a mechanic did not fix something right the first time and you paid him initially for the job but then had to bring it back to him two more times because it was not a fixed, it was a freebie. In fact, because of the ongoing problem it cost me time and aggravation, a day off of work, and a rental car twice. And he always wanted the car for just one more day--never on time.

So now it gets better. He refused to look at the car sooner and without me paying again, which I knew better than to give him any more of my money. When I brought it to a mechanic, he noticed from top that there was plumbing foam all over around the H pipe and he refused to work in it because of the extra time and not seeing what he was getting into. A second mechanic said the same thing and turned me down, telling me I should take the original "stooge" to court, that he should not be allowed to touch cars. Finally, a mechanic agreed to work on the car and he just took everything apart and said this stuff is EVERYWHERE--so it is soaking in solvents to loosen up the foam before he can even see Serafin would have used this stuff, predicting that either he never replaced the seal and wanted the easy way out, he stripped where the H Pipe connects, or cracked the H pipe and figured just wrap it up. I could not be more aggravated by the time and money I have thrown away in the past several months because I trusted this jerk.

A couple years ago I brought our family conversion van to him to have the wheel hub and bearings replaced. Two months later I needed to have the same thing done because the wheel almost fell off after he repaired it. In a year he replaced this three times, and then I had it done twice elsewhere--now that I think of it he likely stripped someth. He refused to do anything for me even when I tried ting that so that it would never be completely repaired. I had to sell the van for hardly nothing to a mechanic who could hopefully figure it out. I should have learned then. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.

Did not show up to court, so he lost by default (basically admitting fault and knew he could not defend this workmanship).
