*how long do the extensions last?
Each application will last up to 8-10 weeks varying on clients hair growth. Reapplication is recommended during this time to eliminate matting, frizzing, and tangling due to natural hair growth.
*is it human hair?
Hotheads hair extensions are handcrafted from the finest quality Remy human hair. The fantasy colors are a blend of temperature safe synthetic and human hair. Bright colors usually have drastic fading after 1 to 2 shampooings and his blend allows the colors to stay vibrant. This product can be blow dried and hot ironed of low heat settings.
*can you color it?
Chemical processes performed on he extensions void the manufactures warranty. If you wish to color, use a demi-permanent color to deposit color no more then 2-3 levels.
*can you heat style the extensions?
Extensions can be ironed, curled, and blown dry. Direct heat to the tab can make the hair slip and break the bond. Remember excessive heat is not good for the hair so we always recommend a heat protectant when styling the hair.
*what products can be used in the hair?
We recommend that you use the hotheads product styling line. Heavy conditioners are not to be applied to the scalp or tap tag, but rather the mid shaft to the ends. Avoid products with alcohol, oil or ethanol.
*can roots be retouched while the extensions are in the hair?
Yes, just remember to stay away from the tap tabs. We recommend doing a partial retouch along the hairline in between applications.
*how do we remove them?
Apply solvent along the new hair growth and allow it to run down the hair shaft in between the tap tabs. Pryor to re tapping it is not necessary to rub or clean the tap tabs, let the solvent set for 3-5 seconds then separate the tabs. Create a system to maintain the placement of the extensions, this will create an easy and accurate re application.
*can I reuse them?
The recommend reuse is up to 3 times. After 3 times the hair becomes bulky and the new hair is recommended.
*how many packs does it to do a full head?
On average it should only take 3, 20 piece pack to create length for the client. Depending on the density of the clients hair.
*what lengths are available?
Hotheads are available in several different lengths, from 10"-12", 14"-16", 18"-20", 22"-24"*select colors only.
*do you offer different textures?
Hotheads are available in natural body wave and slightly textured. Body wave hair can be worn straight or wave. The texture collection is more blended for the ethnic hair type.
*can I workout or swim with hotheads?
Yes, be sure to wash you hair with fresh water immediately after swimming or sweating excessively. We recommend that you apply a light amount of hotheads smooth conditioner prior to exposing their hair to chlorine or salt water. This will protect the hair from absorbing these chemicals or minerals.
*can clients taking medication use the extensions?
Clients taking medication with side affects that cause hair lose may not be good candidate for the hair extensions. You should never apply hair extensions to a client that could possibly have an adverse reaction or whose scalp is not in good condition.
