I am not an Attorney. I'm not a Lawyer, a Solicitor, a Barrister or a
Counselor at Law. I can not give you legal advice; I am not able to
assist you with tax, immigration, criminal or Social Security matters. I
(by law) cannot represent you in a contested hearing, go to court with
you, or represent you in a legal matter.
In short, I can't do anything that could be considered to be the
"Practice of Law". Actually, I can't do anything for you, that you
theoretically can't do for yourself. Just as you can do your own taxes -
but you probably don't- or you can hire a tax attorney, if you require
legal representation or advice; those are your same choices, when it
comes to your legal needs. In point of fact however, you probably hire a
non-attorney professional to assist you with your tax preparation; and
that's how you should look at the assistance I can offer you. I want to
make that very clear, because otherwise, sure as shootin', some hack
ambulance-chaser will complain to the bar association, assuming that the
reason he can't buy his new hot Hummer, must be because I'm committing
the "unlawful practice of law" (which I'm not).
